Riding - It's what we were meant to do!

About 3 years ago, my friend, Aubry, and I decided to start a motorcycle club. At first we didn't really take it seriously and decided to call it: M1. No particular reason. Just guys being guys. After a while, we came up with names that start with 'M' for each other. Then came the hats. Just recently, my sister and her boyfriend purchased motorcycles and they joined the club. M1 is basically a small group of riders that like to ride for the pure joy of it! Weather & time have no bearing on riding. Have wheels, will ride!

Mercury

Ed's ride: 2000 Suzuki Bandit GSF600

I've been riding for about 5 1/2 years now, all with the same bike. To date, I've ridden over 24,000 miles. It's also a nice bonus when you're getting around 50 mpg too!

Marvel

Aubry's wheels: 2001 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-9R

After visiting Aubry with my bike, he soon got the itch and had to get one himself. Riding now for almost 5 years, he's had an old school 1990 Honda 400, 2001 Honda CBR 600, and now his current bike.

Maverick

Jeremy's bike: 1997 Suzuki Katana 600S

Jeremy began riding around the spring of 2006 after getting bitten by the 'Bike bug'. Originally, my brother Frank had bought the bike, but later decided to pass it on to Jeremy. The paint job is pretty sweet and you can definately here it coming.

Kris's ride: 2005 Suzuki GS500

Kris just got her bike early this past spring. It took a little while until she was able to get her liscense, but she did. With lots of work and schooling this summer, the miles are taking a little while to build up. She'll be there in no time though!

Previous Rides

New Hope, PA: A very scenic drive about 45 minutes north of Philadelphia along the Delaware River. Within the town there are several blocks of shops that have everything you can imagine. Many different kinds of motorcycles and cars alike can be found. A definite must!

Baltimore, MD: If you enjoy the highways and better interstates that PA, the ride to Inner Harbor is fun and relaxing. From the city of Harrisburg, through the laidback country side, to the beltway in MD, this ride offers a little bit of everything.

Pittsburgh, PA: Riding the turnpike doesn't sound too appealling at first. However, for long stretches that induce excessive speeds and wicked turns while climbing the mountains, this is one to try. It does get a bit long and $$$ for tolls runs you dryer than a slug in the desert, but the 6 windmills just before Somerset make it a nice touch.

The latest 'Jersey' Ride

Jeremy & I met up with Aubry in NJ for a 2 day get together for some long needed riding. Due to a broken rib, Jeremy had to drive instead. We met up on 8/17 and later that afternoon, took a long drive down to Long Beach, NJ. The water was warmer than I expected which was nice but the seaweed didn't keep me in too long.

Friday morning Jeremy had to leave early for a doctor's appointment, so Aubs and I got out on Interstate 295 and took off up north to New Hope, PA. Jersey has some nice highways. So much so that some knucklehead on a crotch rocket was doing about 120 around traffic!! We finally made it to New Hope and took in the sights before heading down to King of Prussia where we parted ways.

All in all, it was a great 'weekend' to get out and ride. Personally I totalled around 600 miles (50 mpg).
